About the Maker: 

Vermont Rolling Pins

Cyndi and Ken Freeman, a couple in Vermont began their business making solid wood rolling pins in 2008 by turning blocks of maple, walnut and cherry wood on a lathe in their small shop. We have admired their honed craftspersonship over the last few years and are excited to share their elegant and iconic rolling pins with you. Their first style was the “Shaker” rolling pin. A classic, traditional style, one that reminds us of our grandmother’s. They source their wood from a custom mill in Barre, Vermont about 45 miles away from their home. What makes their rolling pins better than the rest is the attention to smoothness of the wood’s surface. This comes from the time-consuming process of sanding where they use varying grits of sandpaper. The other stand-alone factor is that they are made from solid wood, no metal shafts, pins or lamination. Even the most brutal use can leave little to no harm to these rolling pins. They will be true heirlooms for your grandchildren to cherish.   

 

How to care for: 

Please do not let them soak in water. To clean, simply use a wet dish brush or cloth with mild soap, rinse with water and dry immediately. All wood kitchen utensils need occasional conditioning with a food-safe beeswax/mineral oil blend to stay hydrated.
